AfCFTA: Namibia tells Secretary-General we are ready to trade with Africa: #NAMIBIA 🇳🇦 is ready to increase #trade with other African countries under the #AfricanContinentalFreeTradeArea (AfCFTA) agreement following its submission of the #tariff concessions last month.
On Thursday President Hage Geingob received a courtesy call from Wamkele Mene, Secretary-General of the AfCFTA Secretariat in #Windhoek, Namibia.
President Geingob congratulated Mene and assured him of Namibia’s full commitment to operationalise the #AfCFTA.
“As Pan Africanists, we look forward to the social and economic integration of our entire #continent. Now is the time to deliver the promise of economic emancipation. I am confident you will excel”. President Geingob said.
Namibia, and other Southern African Customs Union (Sacu) members submitted tariff concessions as part of the 90% trade liberalisation on the #continent.
Namibia was one of the first countries to ratify and deposit the AfCFTA agreement.
